Creative Corporate Catering Ideas

Posted on: 18 August 2022

If you're planning any type of corporate event for your company, creating a taste-tempting menu is most likely at the top of your to-do list. The good news is that you'll have plenty of options to design a spread that will please all of your guests.

No matter what size event you're having, from a small, intimate gathering or a large-scale convention, a professional catering company can help you create the menu of your dreams. When picking a company to go with, choose one that has extensive experience with or specializes in corporate events. Corporate events are often bigger than private celebrations, such as weddings or birthdays, and require a bit more planning and consideration.

You can have any type of corporate event catered, such as staff and company picnics, team-buildings gatherings, holiday celebrations, company or organization milestones, trades shows, seminars and conferences, and product launches. Having your food catered is convenient for both indoor and outdoor soirees, such as golf events.

When planning the menu, take all of your guests' dietary concerns and restrictions into consideration. For instance, provide plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and or gluten-free options as needed.

Here are some creative corporate catering ideas to get you started:

1. Taco Bar

If you are looking for one type of food that will appeal to a large number of your guests, you can't go wrong with tacos. Serving lunch or dinner buffet-style with a taco bar will allow attendees to completely customize their meals as well.

A taco bar consists of warming trays of seasoned ground beef, turkey, or a soy meat alternative and refried beans. Guests can move down the bar and add ingredients such as diced tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, shredded cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, salsa, and avocado to their hard or soft tacos.

As another idea, you can set up a burrito bar, where guests can "roll their own" meals and then have them cooked in convection ovens or over a grill at the end. Hand-held burritos are ideal event food since attendees can mix and mingle as they enjoy their food.

2. Small Plates

Another fun way to serve both large and small corporate event crowds is with small plates. Small plate meals are similar to appetizers but may contain foods that are more filling, such as hamburger or fried chicken sliders, or a variety of deli meat and cheese sandwiches.

You can make the plates as casual or gourmet as you'd like, or have the catering company provide a mix of the two. Some additional small plate menu ideas include chicken wings, pretzel bites and creamy queso, salads, and crostini.
